The beautiful YAKRIS coat, Golden Kahtun ’was handcrafted in Uzbekistan and sewn from traditionally woven Ikat fabric. In this case, pure organic cotton was used.
It is not for nothing that the cloak got its name from the age of the Golden Horde, in which the khans ruled over today's Uzbekistan. The queens were called khatun.
Ikat is one of the oldest forms of textile decoration. It originated in Asia and is still most common in Indonesia, India, and Japan. The word Ikat comes from the Indonesian language and means to tie up ‘and to bind‘.
Since Yasmin grew up closely with this clothing tradition and because of our love for Asia, Ikat appears again and again in our product range.
